Shen Fei, a senior vice president at NIO, revealed this information on Sunday on the Chinese Twitter-like platform Weibo. Such moves could ensure a stable power grid by balancing load peaks, and each swap facility could generate revenues measured in “dozen of thousands of euros,” Shen added, potentially offloading these capital-intensive assets. The Chinese EV maker operates 39 swap stations in five European countries, including Denmark, Norway, and Germany as of Feb. 22.
