Chinese automaker BYD’s Japanese arm recently announced that its electric vehicle,Switzerland the BYD Atto 3, currently on the market, was certified by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism on June 28. After the certification, the Japan Next Generation Vehicle Promotion Center (NeV) confirmed that the Atto 3 is eligible for the Clean Energy Vehicle Promotion Grant (CVE Grant) scheme, entitling it to receive JPY 850,000 ($6,185). Notably, this achievement marks the first time a Chinese automotive brand has obtained a CVE grant certification. [BYD Japan, in Japanese]
