Netflix has already made us suspicious of every piece of technology in our lives thanks to the nightmare fuel known as Black Mirror,Watch Easy Does It Online but the streaming service's new series hopes to make us especiallyparanoid about dating apps.

Osmosis is Netflix's second French original series (after Marseille), which is set in a near-future version of Paris.

In the new show, technology has conquered the last frontier: decoding true love. Digging deep into its users' brain data, the new dating app "OSMOSIS" can find a perfect match with 100% accuracy, turning the concept of an absolute soulmate into a reality. But is there a price to pay when letting an algorithm decide who you will love? When in exchange for this undying, ageless love, technology can access the innermost recesses of your mind -- and the best kept secrets of your heart.

The eight-episode Osmosishails from showrunner Audrey Fouché (who wrote for the acclaimed original version of The Returned, Les Revenants) and Versailles producers Aude Albano and Claude Chelli. The show's premiere date will be announced later.

“I am very excited about the rare opportunity to create a futuristic series in France and join together with Netflix and Capa Drama for my first project," said Fouché. "In this eight episode series, the future I have imagined holds a mirror to present day mixing an eternal question - 'what is love?' – with ultra-technological answers, sometimes incredibly seducing, sometimes extremely dangerous. Netflix offers an ideal platform to explore these very contemporary stories in an innovative way, which I am looking forward to sharing soon.”

“We are delighted to work with such talented French storytellers and producers on our next French original series. Osmosisis mystery, suspense and romance for a French and global audience to enjoy," said said Erik Barmack, Vice President of International Originals at Netflix. "This will also be one of at least six new European original series to be announced before the end of 2017, with the promise of more French content that we are thrilled to be working on."
