Yeah,Gulab 69 (2025) Hindi Web Series yeah, we know: Anyone can die in Avengers: Infinity War.
The Marvel marketing machine has been in overdrive promising death and destruction to fans of the franchise, with screenwriter Stephen McFeely promising, "It’s safe to say we will say farewell to people."
SEE ALSO: Who's who in 'Avengers: Infinity War'But let's be real. We all know some of these heroes are safer than others. Some of these heroes have run their course, and are played by actors who seem ready to get off the MCU train. Others are just getting started, and already have sequels on the calendar.
It's worth keeping in mind, too, that "death" in comic book movies doesn't mean the same thing it does in real life. Characters die and come back all the time; see Bucky or Loki or Nick Fury. And also that there's another part to this story we won't see 'til next year, when Avengers 4shows up to finish what Infinity Warstarted.
All that said, we're dying to know who's dying in this one. So we've put together our best educated guesses, based on our obsessive knowledge of these characters, their movies, and the circumstances surrounding them. Here they are, roughly in order from least to most likely to bite the dust in Infinity War.
Black Panther

Yeah, there's no way Marvel is killing off its golden goose just one movie in. Did you seehow much money Black Panthermade at the box office? Those are the kind of returns you move heaven and earth to repeat.
As for Black Panther's allies, friends, and loved ones: Shuriseems like a sure bet to survive, and probably Okoyeas well. They're too essential to the Black Pantherfranchise to write out this early. Ayoand M'Bakuare more peripheral. We think they'll make it, and we really really hope they do, but we wouldn't be entirely shocked if they didn't.

How sad would we be if he died?😱😭😭😠😡
Spider-Man

Spidey's safe for the same reason Black Pantheris: He's a popular character with a bright franchise future ahead of him. Moreover, the MCU only recently got him back from Sony (well, technically, it's a complicated sharing deal, but we won't get into that now). They are not gonna give up one of the biggest superheroes in their stable for the sake of juicing up some drama in a movie that's already got plenty of it.

Ant-Man

Ant-Man has a sequel coming this July. As in two months after Infinity War. 'Nuff said.

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel isn't actually confirmed for an appearance in Infinity War, but it'd be just like Marvel to sneak her in for a post-credits cameo. In any case, though, you know she's sticking around – she's got a solo franchise to launch next year.

Star-Lord and assorted Guardians

A third Guardiansmovie is expected in 2020. It seems reasonable to assume Star-Lord, its flagship hero, will live to see it, not least because Chris Pratt is one of the biggest stars in the MCU.
Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Mantisare on somewhat shakier ground, since they're not as central to the franchise as Star-Lord is. Still, if we had to put money on it, we'd bet on all four of them surviving. (Gamora, on the other hand... well, scroll down.)

How sad would we be if Groot died?😭😭😭😭😭
Doctor Strange

Although Marvel hasn't officially announced a sequel for Doctor Strange, it seems like only a matter of time before they do. One and done simply isn't their style. In short: yes, he's sticking around.
Ditto Wong, we're guessing. Every superhero needs a sidekick, and Wong is his.

Bucky

Not only do we expect Bucky to survive Infinity War, we expect Infinity Warto serve as a promotion of sorts. Marvel seems to have big plans for the White Wolf, and actor Sebastian Stan is in it for the long haul – he's only about halfway through a nine-picture deal with the studio.

How sad would we be if he died?☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
Black Widow

Black Widow is part of the old guard, many of whom seem to be on their way out. Unlike most of the original Avengers, though, she's never gotten her own movie. There's still more story there, and promising indications that Marvel is finally getting ready to tell it.

How sad would we be if he died?☹️☹️☹️☹️
Iron Man

We hate to say it, but killing off Iron Man makes a lot of sense. He's a longtime Avenger whose storyline is starting to run out of steam, right as newer heroes are coming to the forefront. Plus Robert Downey Jr. seems to have one eye on the exit sign – not that we can blame him, considering he's spent the past decadein the MCU.
But we're thinking he survives Infinity War, mostly because it seems unlikely that Marvel would kill off multiple flagship heroes in one go. Odds are he is going to die soon, but in Avengers 4. (Happyand Pepper, on the other hand, could eventually ride off into the sunset without actually dying.)

War Machine

If Iron Man's making it out of Infinity Waralive, so is War Machine. Especially since Iron Man justspent Civil Warfreaking out over War Machine's apparent death. Now, whether he'll survive Avengers 4is another question. We'll worry about that when we get there.

Scarlet Witch

While Vision may be a goner (see below), the good money's on Scarlet Witch surviving. Heck, traumatic deaths can be good for superheroes. It's how most of their origin stories start. Elizabeth Olsen might not see a solo movie in her character's future, but that's fine. The Avengers will continue to need supporting players in Phase Four and beyond.

Gamora

As mentioned above, the Guardians have a threequel due out in 2020. Our best guess is that the core team of Gamora, Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Mantis will reach it together.
However, ifany of them die between now and then, Gamora seems like the likeliest candidate, thanks to her ties to both Thanos (her "adopted dad" and captor) and Nebula (her adopted sister and fellow captive). Worth noting: Thanos has killed her before in the comics. Could the movie go the same way?

Falcon

Falcon's been relegated to sidekick for as long as we've known him. But if Cap's days are numbered, someone'sgonna have to take up the shield, and Falcon or Bucky seem like the most likely candidates.
There's a lot more that Marvel could do with Falcon if they wanted to. It's also possible they don't want to, and figure the end of Cap's story is as good an opportunity to get rid of some of his supporting players.
How likely is he to die?💀💀½
How sad would we be if he died?☹️☹️
Hulk

Hulk hasn't had a solo outing since 2008's The Incredible Hulk, and for rights reasons it seems unlikely he'll have one again anytime soon. But he's worked really, really well as a supporting player, and Mark Ruffalo has so far seemed game to stick around. (He kind of has to be, since he's only halfway through his six-film contract.) We'd bet on Hulk living to see another Avengersmovie or two.

How sad would we be if he died?☹️☹️☹️☹️
Thor

Thor reportedly gets the most screentime out of any hero in Infinity War, which could go one of two ways. It might set him up for even bigger and even better adventures to come. Or it might be a way to give him the royal sendoff he deserves.
Chris Hemsworth's original Marvel contract ends with Infinity Warand Avengers 4, but contracts can be extended, and he seems open to the idea. Hmm... When it comes to Thor, it may be worth keeping in mind that there are ways to write off characters besides permanent death.
(Oh, and if you're wondering about Thor's buddy Heimdall: Idris Elba seems ambivalent about the MCU in general, so maybe have your goodbyes prepared just in case.)
How likely is he to die?💀💀💀
How sad would we be if he died?☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
Nebula

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2established that Nebula's new mission in life is to kill Thanos. Who's basically invincible. So yeah, she's toast – that is, unless Infinity Wartakes a page out of the Infinity Gauntletcomics, in which Nebula survived Thanos and actually made off with the gauntlet herself.
How likely is she to die?💀💀💀½
How sad would we be if she died?☹️☹️
Loki

Loki's been a fan favorite for a long time now... maybe too long. There are only so many times we can fall for his tricks again; even Thor seemed kind of over them in Ragnarok. Creatively, he's probably outlived his glorious purpose. The best use of him now might be death by Thanos, as a way for Infinity Warto establish exactly how Bad this latest Big Bad is.

How sad would we be if he died?☹️☹️☹️
Hawkeye

The forgotten Avenger played by an actor who seems to be faring better outside the MCU than it these days? Yeah, the only way Hawkeye survives Infinity Waris if he's not in it at all – in which case, look for him to bite the dust in Avengers 4: Title TBD.
(We guess it's also possible he survives and retires to his farm, but if Renner's out, it seems cleaner for Marvel to kill him off and be done with it, rather than spend the rest of eternity fielding questions about whether or not Hawkeye will return.)
How likely is he to die?💀💀💀💀💀
How sad would we be if he died?☹️☹️
Vision

This dude is powered by a Mind Stone which is embedded in his head. You know, the same Mind Stone that Thanos will move heaven and earth to collect for his giant golden glove. It's hard to see how Vision comes out of this one intact.
Besides, out of all the Avengers, Vision is – how do we put this diplomatically – one of the more expendable ones. He's well liked, but few people's #1 fave. Killing him off would give Infinity Warthe emotional heft it needs without actually jeopardizing the future of the MCU.
How likely is he to die?💀💀💀💀💀
How sad would we be if he died?☹️
Captain America

We don't know if it'll happen in Infinity Waror its sequel, but Cap's death is coming. It makes sense from a storytelling standpoint: Cap's always been about self-sacrifice, even going back to his Skinny Steve days, and this seems like an ideal opportunity for him to go out in a noble blaze of glory.
And it makes even more sense from a business standpoint. Chris Evans recently told the New York Timesthat he had no plans to return to Marvel after Avengers 4– which suggests that even if Cap makes it out of this one alive, he'll probably eat it in the sequel.
