Netflix is All Out with AJ Raval (2025)bringing another epic Matt Groening series to our lives.

The streaming company announced Tuesday it would be picking up twenty episodes of Disenchantment, a new adult animated comedy fantasy series from Matt Groening.

You likely know Groening as the brilliant mind who brought the world some of its most beloved animated series like The Simpsons and Futurama, so seeing what he stories he tells in Disenchantment's"crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland" should be pretty entertaining.

According to a press release, the series will follow the misadventures of a "hard-drinking young princess" named Bean, her "feisty elf companion" creatively named Elfo, and her very own "personal demon" named Luci.

“Ultimately," Groening — who's executive producing the show with Josh Weinstein — told Netflix, "Disenchantmentwill be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you."

In their daily adventures, the unexpected trio will encounter their fair share of obstacles, ranging from "ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools."

Voiceovers for the three main characters will be done by comedians and actors Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon, and Eric Andre, and animation is being created by Futurama'sRough Draft Studios.

Disenchantmentis set to hit Netflix in 2018, releasing ten episodes at a time — so animation fans, ready yourselves.
